It is possible to encounter many players who love and even protest microtransactions in the games. But New Zealand broadcaster Quin69 has been one of the players to do this the most expensive way. The player, who spent as much as $ 15,000 to obtain a 5-star gem in the Diablo Immortal game, then never lost all his money to protest the game.
$15,000 worth of protest against Diablo Immortal
Publisher Quin69, who spent $25,165.57 (US$15,997 ) to acquire a 5-star gem in the game, resorted to a very interesting way to protest the game after acquiring the jewel. Suddenly, he uninstalled the game by saying “Done”. Later, realizing that the gem had forgotten to take a screenshot in-game, he reinstalled the game. Of course, he would then decide to destroy the jewel for which he had spent thousands of dollars.
After reinstalling Diablo Immortal, he used his 5-star jewel to develop a one-star item that could be described as trash. Therefore, he destroyed thousands of dollars of goods by using them for nothing. After hurling profanities at Blizzard and pointing a middle finger at the camera, he uninstalled the game again.
In fact, the reason for this protest is that although the game has micro-purchases, rare items such as legendary gems cannot be purchased directly. Instead, players can purchase “Legendary Crests” that they can use in the Elder Rift dungeons. Even if the Elder Rifts get this item, which allows them to earn runes and gems throughout their dungeon, the value of the items is noticed every time. This reveals the difficulty of reaching legendary quality items despite micro-purchases. Enraged by this situation, Quin69 cut it to money until he obtained a legendary item, then destroyed it in protest. You can watch the Twitch clip of these moments by clicking here .
At the same time, this gem, which costs $ 15,000, the characters in the game can wear exactly 6. In other words, although he had given a large amount of money for a jewel, he had not yet gone beyond 1/6 of the way. This restriction on in-game purchases seems to have angered many players. Quin expresses his anger on social media:
I can’t believe I just looted my first 5/5? gem and it only cost me $25,165.57 NZD
