Sony Interactive Entertainment has also announced that it will not be participating in Gamescom 2022. A PlayStation spokesperson said in a statement that they will not take part in the event, which will take place in August and will be held in person for the first time since the beginning of the pandemic.
Nintendo, Activision Blizzard and Take-Two Interactive have also previously announced that they will not participate in Gamescom’s return event.
Although Gamescom organizers say that more than 250 companies will participate in this year’s fair, only Bandai Namco, THQ Nordic and Koch Media have made the official announcement from the big names. It is not yet clear which other major publishers will be at the show.
Gamescom 2022 will be held from August 24 to 28 this year.
