Some in-engine footage and concept art for the cancelled Scarface 2 game, developed by Radical Entertainment, was released in May. Now, on YouTube, a channel called Mafia Game Videos has shared a video with new gameplay footage for Scarface 2.
The new video showcases some of the game’s environments, as well as its fighting and driving systems. In addition, the game would use a greatly modified version of the engine used in the Prototype.
The Radical Entertainment team has no plans to revive this series at this time.
Scarface’s first game, The World Is Yours, was developed by Radical Entertainment and released in 2006 for PlayStation 2, Xbox, Wii, and PC. The Xbox 360 version of the game was also planned but could not debut.
The first game received positive reviews, and the PlayStation 2 version received 75 points on review site Metacritic.
On the other hand, developer Radical Entertainment came to the forefront with many games during the PlayStation 2 era. Radical was later acquired by Vivendi Universal Entertainment, which merged with Activision in 2008.
The last game Radical developed as a lead studio was Prototype 2, which debuted in 2012. It later served as a support studio for Bungie during the development of the first Destiny.
