Jim Ryan, CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment, said: “We’re not going to be able to do that. He said they were investing in the creation of new first-party games and that the PS5 would have a much larger number of exclusive games than previous PlayStation consoles.
Jim Ryan also indicatedthat they are looking for a new studio to increase their development capabilities.
“We’re quietly but regularly investing in high-quality games for PlayStation, and we’re going to make sure the PS5 generation has a lot more exclusive games than before,” says Ryan. “We have experienced mergers and acquisitions before, such as Insomniac Games. We’re keeping that option on the table,” Ryan said.
Currently, there are only two exclusive games coming out soon for PS5. The first is Housemarque’s Returnal (April 30), and the other is Insomniac’s Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart (June).
Ps4 had 67 exclusive games (large and small). PS5 is far from satisfying players in the number of exclusive games so far, and we’ll see when Ryan’s words start to become a reality.
