Although things are not going as desired on the eFootball side, Konami continues to cooperate agreements. Finally, Konami announced a cooperation with AC Milan and announced that they have signed a long-term partnership agreement with Bayern Munich, one of the most established clubs in the German league. The company has previously announced cooperation with Italian teams such as Atalanta and Napoli. The details of this long-term cooperation and the official statement are as follows;
Konami signs with Bayern Munich for eFootball
This cooperation is an agreement that translates the cooperation that has been going on since July 2019 into a long-term partnership. The partnership encompasses the club feature in KONAMI’s football simulation series eFootball™ and symbolises an exciting partnership between Germany’s most successful club and one of the world’s most iconic gaming brands.
As the only football video game with the Allianz Arena, the club’s home on full-squad digital pitches and the home of FC Bayern, eFootball™ offers a detailed and in-depth club experience in the virtual world for FC Bayern fans. The club finished second in this season’s eFootball™ Championship Pro matches.
Naoki Morita, European President of Konami Digital Entertainment B.V., said: “We are delighted that our partnership with FC Bayern has become more comprehensive. Partnering with one of Europe’s elite football clubs offers KONAMI and the club many opportunities.”
“It was great to partner with them at a time when they have won multiple titles and are European champions, and we look forward to continuing to organise interesting and exciting events with FC Bayern in the coming years, both for them and for our fans.”
Andreas Jung, Member of the Executive Board of FC Bayern responsible for Marketing: “Partnering with KONAMI is of great importance to us because this market is growing and is extremely popular, especially among young fans. We love football and this collaboration gives us an ideal opportunity to play the game virtually with our fans around the world and connect everyone in this way. KONAMI translates as ‘small wave’ – we have managed to create a great wave together since the first years of our partnership. We want to continue to surf this wave and look to the future with hope.”
