Dune, which we watched in partnership with Warner Bros. and Legendary, is moving towards a full-throttle sequel. Dune 2, directed by Denis Villenueve, would normally be released in October 2023. However, the Warner Brothers made a calendar change and postponed the film to November 17, 2023. With this calendar change, Dune’s new competitors that are already evident at the box office have emerged.
In a similar period, The TrollsTopia movie will be released along with The Hunger Games: Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. According to the news announced by Variety, there was no explanation from the studio about the postponement decision. It is likely that there have been some changes to Warner Bros.’s own internal calendar, and finally such a decision has been taken. Especially during the pandemic period, this one-month postponement is not so sad as we often experience long postponements.
In the sequel, where names such as Timothee Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson and Zendaya will return to their roles, we will see new faces such as Lea Seydoux and Christopher Walken. The fact that we have no information about the script of the sequel has started to make some fans suspicious. But as long as Denis Villenueve is in charge of the project, our expectations for Dune: Part Two are pretty high.
