Shokans!
A warrior society that is half human, half dragon. Although these beings, who are physically taller and larger than humans, have differences such as the pale yellow color of their skin, their most prominent features are that they have four arms.
They have connections with the element of fire due to the fact that their species is based on dragons. Many Shokans have the power to fire from their mouths and hands.
Within the Shokan race, there are two distinct classes, Draco and Tigrar . Dracos are categorized as elite class and Tigrars as subclass. On the skin of the tigrars there are patterns similar to more feathers and tiger stripes. The most brutal and brutal Tigrar species known is Kintaro.
However, the leader of the Shokans is a Draco, and his name is King Gorbak.
The most cruel Draco known is Goro, the son of King Gorbak!
Design of Mortal Kombat Goro
Goro, a startled monster with four arms, three fingers and double nails, originally conceived as Gongoro but later abandoned because the name was long, is a miniature sculpture made of clay rather than actors translated into digital.
As I mentioned in the Mortal Kombat article, the other characters in the game are played by real actors. This is a primitive variation of the Motion Capture technique that is now used in almost all games.
But since Goro is the one we’re talking about, things go a little differently. After the miniature sculpture in question is designed, it is placed on a floor of about 30 cm and all the movements it will make in the game are recorded in the black square. In summary, stop-motion technique is used in the dynamic of the character in the game.
The Story of Mortal Kombat Goro
When we look at the story dimension of the work, we see Goro as a champion representing Outworld. He defeated the Great Kung Lao and became the emperor’s favorite and also a great ally with 9 consecutive wins. He is an invincible warrior against whom no one can stand, so to speak.
However, he is defeated by Liu Kang in the 10th tournament. With this defeat, Goro is thought to be dead, while Kintaro is the one who sits on the throne in his absence. In fact, there are some theories that Goro retreated to his kingdom. As a matter of fact, we see him again in the sequels.
Finally, there is an animated film called Mortal Kombat The Journey Begins, which deals with Goro’s family issues. In this film, Goro betrays his brother Duroc because of his battle for the throne.
Goro in Mortal Kombat Movies
Goro, one of the unforgettable characters in the history of the game, has a special place in the world of cinema. The Mortal Kombat movie, which was adapted to the big screen in 1995, introduces us to that terrible facial expression. In the production of over $ 1 million, Goro’s face and upper arms have a robotic structure, while the other limbs of the character are brought to life by an actor.

The first Mortal Kombat adaptation, which has done a very successful job for its time, is of course not as fortunate as the latest Mortal Kombat adaptation. Although the last film is quite bad and Goro scenes do not have much place in the film, we can say that the design of the character was not bad.
For some reason, every time I see Goro, I imagine them locking him in the same cage as me. Think about it, they’re putting you in a confined space with something like 🙂 If you have such different thoughts, you can state them in the comments.
