The Marvel Cinematic Universe has been following a strict age policy since its inception. Disney, which has been staying away from 18+ movies in an attempt to maximize box office revenues in cinema, is preparing to loosen these strict policies for Deadpool. The arrival of Deadpool, the recent savior of Fox’s Marvel films, to the MCU will also be bloody and humorous. Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, the duo who wrote the screenplay for the third Deadpool film, are confident that the new era Deadpool movie will bypass the Disney filters.
In their recent interview about Deadpool’s progress, the two didn’t praise Disney quite a bit. Speaking about Disney’s perspective on the subject and the future of the film, the screenwriting team said;
Looking at Wernick and Reese’s statements, we all know that the Disney filter will definitely come to some jokes. Of course, will we be able to find out what these jokes are? I don’t think that’s where it really is. However, the fact that the film will be 18+, the return of Ryan Reynolds and a few jokes that Deadpool will break the fourth wall and make fun of Disney raise the excitement for the film. An official release date for Deadpool 3 has not yet been announced from the Disney front.
