Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa was asked during a Q&A during the annual General Assembly what his business continuity plans are in the event of a natural disaster. Shuntaro Furukawa made various statements on the subject.
Furukawa said: “Even if a natural disaster such as an earthquake or highly contagious and serious epidemics impede our business continuity, we always have a response plan against them. We have taken various measures in this regard and we are ready to implement them.
In the event of a disaster, we will first convene the disaster response committee to verify the safety of our employees, protect the integrity of the company and maintain communication systems in rescue efforts.
On the other hand, we are constantly making backups in case of loss of critical and important data. These backups allow us to restore data as quickly as possible in the unlikely event that it is possible.”
Furukawa also said they are improving their schedules to offer a more comfortable and flexible working environment within the company.
