Supernatural events while searching for a mysteriously lost child in a town where a bicycle takes half an hour from one end to the other. Officially, even the subject of Stranger Things smelled like the eighties. Kerata grew up as fast as child actors. With Upside Down, superhuman powers, secret experiments, and Russia, the popular enemy of the time, getting involved, events turned from the dark secret of the cute town into an international issue.
Of course, the enemies did not stand still. Demogorgon, Mind Flayer, Vecna. Every season the events have grown exponentially and we have come to Season 4 (which I thought was the last season until yesterday).
As I mentioned in my impressions of the first half of the season, the first 2 episodes started slowly, but ;D ear Billy; Season 4 of Stranger Things was this by going to the heights of the action with Stranger Things. After that, he didn’t slow down. This includes the last two episodes, which were broadcast as two hours after a break of 1 month. The California team, which was very much behind at the beginning, is finally getting a little more into the business, Eleven is doing what is expected of him, and the Goonies team running the Hawkins side is making their final moves with a perfect plan. Of course, the calculation at home doesn’t fit the market, but isn’t that the D&D that the series refers to a lot? Sometimes the dice come disaster no matter how good your plans are.
To be honest, I like Stranger Things’ D&D references too, and since Hollywood producers don’t get any fun out of it, any kind of play and D&D references are extremely wrong and disgraceful, but the Duffer brothers haven’t put themselves in that situation. In fact, D&D and metal music, which were visited in the nineties with a little delay in Turkey, touch the perception of equal satanism very well in the series. Thanks to the Hawkins, who unquestioningly declared Eddie guilty, we can clearly see how simple it is to turn the uneducated masses into lynch gangs and turn children into targets with hearsay nonsense such as “I saw it on TV, they were definitely Satanians, I read it in one place, they were doing rituals”. And Eddie has become a different but lovable character with layers, instead of the usual asocial and ridiculous nerd stereotype. It fits the theme of loving the differences of this season and accepting that it is unique rather than abnormal.
I said I thought season 4 was the last, but I honestly don’t complain without this misunderstanding. On the one hand, I watched the excitement at its peak that the series would end and anything could happen. And let’s face it, this season had all the elements needed to make the series finale. Many of our questions about Upside Down have been answered, shedding light on the motives and origins of ancient enemies. Scattered on all sides, each part of the team gathered in the nursery of the final symphony.
I wouldn’t have much of an objection if they had finished the series at that point, and I’m not going to say no to enjoying Stranger Things for another season. I hope they finish with a delicious ending and we will watch the series again and again years later.
