Modern Warfare and Warzone file size shrinks

With the upcoming Season 2 Reloaded update, modern Warfare and Warzone file size will be greatly reduced.

Activision said the future patch of Modern Warfare and Warzone was targeting “dimensions” and would greatly decrease in file size. The rate at which the file size is reduced will vary by platform.

Modern Warfare and Warzone file size will eventually drop

Season 2 Reloaded brings good news about lower and optimized file size across Warzone. Those who have the full version of Modern Warfare/Warzone, or those who have Warzone, which can be played completely for free, will see the total file size greatly reduced on all platforms.

Based on improvements to the overall content management system and data optimizations, the update will create major changes to the Modern Warfare/Warzone and Warzone file size.

In addition to individual game modes that are no longer played; Owners of Modern Warfare/Warzone will see more gaps created on their preferred platforms. Players who want to play the scenario, multiplayer, or special op modes will need to reload fully optimized content packs that will be released shortly after the Season 2 Reloaded update.

Following the update, which will be made at 09:00 Turkish time on March 31, the Warzone file size will be reduced to 14.2 GB and the Modern Warfare/Warzone file size will be reduced to 33.6 GB depending on the platforms.

The update will be 52GB on PlayStation consoles, 57.8GB on Xbox consoles, 52.4GB (Warzone only) / 133.6GB (Modern Warfare and Warzone) on PC.

Below are the details of the file size reduction in both Modern Warfare and Warzone and Warzone file size. Approximate file size reductions expected to appear on each platform:

• PlayStation 5: 10.9GB (Warzone only) / 30.6GB (Modern Warfare and Warzone)
• PlayStation 4: 10.9GB (Warzone only) / 30.6GB (Modern Warfare and Warzone)
• Xbox Series X / Xbox Series S: 14.2GB (Warzone only) / 33.6GB (Modern Warfare and Warzone)
• Xbox One: 14.2GB (Warzone only) / 33.6GB (Modern Warfare and Warzone)
• PC: 11.8GB (Warzone only) / 30.6GB (Modern Warfare and Warzone)

At the same time, the Season 2 Reloaded update will have a download size of about 7.4 – 14.18 GB for owners of the full version of Black Ops Cold War.
