Nordisk Games acquired Supermassive Games in 2021, in which it acquired a 30.7% stake, by acquiring it completely. We know BAFTA award-winning indie game developer Supermassive Games for Until Dawn, The Dark Pictures Anthology games and The Quarry.
Supermassive Games, founded in 2008 and with more than 300 employees, develops cinematic-heavy interactive story games. The studio’s newest game, The Quarry, tells a classic teen slasher story and puts players in the middle of the terrifying events that occur at a summer camp.
Pete Samuels, CEO of Supermassive Games, says:
Nordisk Games is an entertainment company owned by Nordisk Film, part of Egmont, the largest Scandinavian media group. In recent years, Avalanche Studios Group, Star Sable Entertainment, Flashbulb Games, Nitro Games and MercurySteam have also been acquired by Nordisk.
Supermassive Games’ latest game, The Quarry, was released on June 10, 2022 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series. The studio is now counting down the days for the release of Devil In Me, the new game from The Dark Pictures Anthology.
