After the announcement on EA’s blog, sleeves are rolled up for a new Battlefield Mobile game. According to a statement issued by DICE General Manager Oskar Gabrielson, the game will be introduced very shortly.
Battlefield Mobile comes next year
According to the description, the new Battlefield mobile game will not be a sequel or expansion of any existing game. It’s going to come across as a completely independent production. No other details have been shared about the game, which has already begun testing. However, he confirmed that the Battlefield team, developed for PCs and consoles, had joined another studio via the EA blog post: EA Gothenburg. The Swedish studio “takes the technology in the game to the next level.”
Here’s part of the explanation:
“Our vision has always been to bring Battlefield to more platforms. Therefore, after years of prototype phase, I am pleased to announce that our friends at Industrial Toys are working hard with the DICE team for a Battlefield game that will bring all-out warfare to smartphones and tablets in 2022.
Remember, this is going to be an independent game. It is completely different from what we do for console and PC and is a game designed specifically for the mobile platform. It’s built from scratch by iToys, a full-blown, skill-based experience that will realize the idea of playing Battlefield everywhere. This mobile game is now entering the testing period ahead of its launch next year and we will share details soon.
I can’t wait to show you the next two Battlefield games.”
It’s up to us to wait and see what steps are taken against Call of Duty Mobile.
