In a blog post, the developer also shared the visuals of the real state of the cute cat, the main character of the game. They’re both so cute, hold on I’m going to love it!

Introducing Stray… Sorry Murtaugh!
The cat character we will play in the Stray game is actually inspired by Murtaugh, one of the developer’s cats. Let’s meet Murtaugh, one of the calmest members of the genus we call crazy sarmans…
Stray, which we also see in the name of the game, is a name given to street animals. The developer’s cat, Murtaugh, was also once taken off the street and now inspires the main character of a game in his warm nest. The kitty, which was found under a car in Montpellier, France, is the cat of the co-founders of the company. They called him “Boss” at home. Also, the main character is largely inspired by Murtaugh, although not entirely based on Murtaugh. At the same time, the cat in the game does not have a real name, I guess they left it to us players.
They say that Stray’s main character is trying very hard to make her do cat-specific things and make her feel 100% like a cat, as those who keep cats can understand very well. For the reference images of cat movements, a cat was also employed. Introducing the Oscar!
Some of the jumping and running animations are based on Oscar’s movements. It is said to have helped a lot with the work in the studio and made things easier. Stating that it is very difficult to make the running animations of cats realistic and smooth, the developer says that he is grateful for Oscar’s help in this regard. They say that working with real cats right under their noses has helped them improve cat animation and behavior in the game.
Stray will be released on July 19 for PC, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4. It is already open for pre-order and is currently sold on Steam for PC at a price of 144.00 TL. At the same time, let’s say it for those who do not know that the game will be released with Turkish language support.
