We can say that the games we used to play fondly have become fashionable in recent years to be renewed and reappeared. Sometimes this is a radical remake, sometimes it is a visual and auditory remaster. We thought about the work, we moved and when it came to remaster, we said let’s list the games that come to mind. The result is a list, let’s see if you like it.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered
Although it hasn’t tasted like that old lately (at least that’s the case for me), the Call of Duty series was the pioneer of a major breakthrough in its time. One of the important parts of this transformation was Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. The cinematic storytelling, the satisfying action, the compelling script, the memorable characters offered more than enough of what was expected from such a game. And of course, he was also opening a whole new page with his multiplayer section (sometimes he wished he had never opened it, but he has to be given his due). Those who were looking for an excuse to play again years later found the opportunity they were looking for with the remastered version. Young game lovers who could not keep up with the period when the original game was released also found a chance to return to the essence of the series.
Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy
One of the games that will not be skipped while counting Playstation’s iconic games is undoubtedly Crash Bandicoot. Generations of consoles have come and gone, and Crash has decided to reassert itself, and it’s been good. Again that old taste, again that hair head making difficulty 🙂 Of course, those colorful environments look even more beautiful now, Crash and his friends are more bloody, and the controls are a little more relaxed (but don’t get too enthusiastic, 🙂 is pushing again). It would be a pity if such iconic characters were forgotten on dusty shelves. Luckily, he made such a nice comeback and paved the way for the aftermath.
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD
A Zelda game would be a must-have on this list; There are remake and remaster examples in the series. Skyward Sword HD, one of the current examples, could also be on this list, but I’m distant from it because of the preferred monetization method, so I decided to go to an older example, Wind Waker HD. On the other hand, Wind Waker is a game that deserves to be on this list with being one of the good examples that can be given about remastering. We can say that there is a consensus that the cel-shaded graphic style becomes more impressive in high resolution. While this alone graphics was a game that could be bought and played even for the update, it also became a more enjoyable experience with small touches made for the gameplay – which is one of the details that make it one of the best remaster examples. Now we are looking forward to seeing if it will be renewed once again and get a Switch version.
Full Throttle
Among the examples we use to express our passion for strategy games is the Command & Conquer series. After all, it was this series that made the real-time strategy genre take a serious leap forward. In the intervening 20-25 years, we have seen many different examples, the type of strategy has risen, diversified and after a while it has entered a period of recession. One of the formulas used to shake off this recession was, of course, going back to the times when the genre made a breakthrough. The first 2 games of the Command & Conquer series have been renewed in the hands of their original producers, and have met us once again. Those who follow the production process know more or less how passionate the production team is about their work. For the rest, the shortest way to test it is to give the C&C Remastered package a chance. If you can ignore a few minor flaws that reveal its age, there’s a nice opportunity to reunite with a classic.
NieR Replicant Ver.1.22474487139.
Almost all of the games on this list have become popular in their original form and have been reintroduced after a certain period of time. But NieR Replicant is an exception. A game that didn’t get the attention it deserved from the original and tried its luck again with the popularity of the sequel.
The original game came out in 2010 and didn’t get on the radar of many gamers (which unfortunately I’m in that group). But then NieR Automata made such an effective debut that it sparked a curiosity about the scene, even before. Yoko Taro and his teammates decided to take this opportunity and rolled up their sleeves to bring the first game back to the game lovers. Good thing they did. Thus, we were not deprived of this interesting story.
Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster
The Final Fantasy series has a 35-year history. To date, we have seen a total of 16 main games and many side games. Of course, such a long-running series could not be expected to leave the remaster and remake front empty. As a matter of fact, these remaster games include Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster. This version of the two beloved games in the series, updated with revamped, high-resolution graphics and additional content, also includes some additional improvements in the PC version. Therefore, it is possible to say that it is a good alternative to experience one of the good examples of the series.
Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection
Whether it’s Indiana Jones or the console Tomb Raider, the Uncharted series was a very enjoyable series for me and in my opinion it has become one of the most successful series on PlayStation so far. I don’t know how it will continue after this. But it’s good to see that the previous games of the series have been renewed and carried to the next console generations. In addition to updating the graphics, it is possible to say that it offers a more accessible and more enjoyable experience with new difficulty levels and improvements in controls.
Persona 4 Golden
If I describe the Persona series as one of the best examples of JRPGS you can play, I guess there won’t be much objection. Persona 4 was one of the prominent games of the series. The original game appeared for PS 2, followed by the Golden version for PS Vita. Not only was it polished, but it also received additional levels, new features, a new character, a new ending, new music, new difficulty levels, etc. As you can tell, Persona 4 Golden is one of the examples that offers more than expected for a remaster. It also got the PC version 2 years ago. Whether you are one of those who entered the series with Persona 5 or have never played a Persona (or Shin Megami Tensei) game, there is a very good example waiting to introduce you to this series, not if you do not try it.
Yakuza Remastered Collection
Does anyone among you not know how I admire the Yakuza series:) Therefore, I would not be able to mention this remaster collection, which allows one of my favorite series in this list to be released to today’s consoles and PC, thus meeting more game lovers, and I am making the finale with this package. After the remakes of the first 2 games (Kiwami and Kiwami 2), the re-introduction of the remaining games (Yakuza 3, Yakuza 4, Yakuza 5) with updated graphics offered a very nice opportunity for those who want to complete the series. With Yakuza 0, which tells the origin story of the series, we had the chance to play a corpus of 7 games in total and to play them in one breath (okay, the whole series does not end in such a breath, I agree, do not hit :)). I say do what you do, take this chance.
