Microsoft released its earnings report for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2022, which ended June 2022. According to this report, Xbox gaming revenue experienced a seven-percent decline (a decrease of $ 259 million) compared to the previous year. The reasons for this decline include declining sales of Xbox services and Xbox hardware.
Microsoft reported that Xbox hardware revenues fell 11 percent, while Xbox content and services revenue fell 6 percent.
Despite an overall decline, the Xbox Game Pass subscription service continues to grow. Overall, Microsoft increased its revenue 12 percent year-over-year to $51.9 billion and its net revenue to $16.7 billion, up two percent.
