Microsoft recently released a new Xbox software development kit for game developers. This kit gives Xbox Series S game developers more control over memory. With this new kit released for Xbox Series S, developers can improve performance in select games.
Microsoft’s Game Development team shared a video detailing the updates. “Additional memory capacity is now available for Xbox Series S developers,” the video reads. This gives developers more control over memory, which can improve graphics performance.
The Xbox Series S, which is worth $ 299, offers up to 120 FPS and up to 1440p resolution. On this console, which has lower performance than Series X, only certain games have reached 1080p resolution.
The Xbox Series S has a RAM capacity of 10 GB, of which about 2 GB is reserved for the system. Thanks to the newly released kit, memory limitations for developers are improved to some extent.
