Development of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic – Remake has been handed over to one of the Eastern European studios of Aspyr team Saber Interactive, according to a Bloomberg report quoted by Jason Schreier.
Aspyr had been working on this remake for more than two years. But at some point we were told that this development process was paused. Then the rumors that Saber Interactive would take over quickly spread within the studio.
Both Aspyr and Saber Interactive are subsidiaries of the Embracer Group. Last week, it was reported that one of the AAA (large-scale) projects had been transferred to another studio. But he wasn’t told what game it was. At this point, it was reported that this was Kotor Remake.
Embracer Group and publishers Sony Interactive Entertainment and Disney have stated that they are not satisfied with the progress of this remake developed by Aspyr. Some people familiar with the project told Bloomberg that such a change would be better.
