Although Konami has stumbled heavily with the eFootball series, it continues to come up with its licensing agreements. Konami, which has signed deals with big clubs in Italy, Spain and England, and recently organized a collaboration with the French Football Federation , announced the extension of its cooperation with Arsenal for eFootball. The explanation and details are as follows;
New signings signed in collaboration between eFootball and Arsenal
This partnership, which started in July 2017, evolves into a long-term partnership from the 2022-23 season. With this agreement, Arsenal will become one of the main clubs in KONAMI’s famous game eFootball™ and we will continue to see KONAMI as Arsenal’s Official Football Video Gaming Partner. Club kits and Emirates Stadium will be featured on eFootball™, while 3D modelled versions of the entire team will also create a perfect bridge between real life and the virtual world.
The KONAMI and eFootball™ brands will be featured on the headrests of the seats in the stadium. In addition, Arsenal will continue to take part in eSports games, including eFootball™ Championship Pro.
Naoki Morita, European President of Konami Digital Entertainment B.V., said: “We are thrilled to announce the extension of such a successful partnership. Arsenal is a giant club and has been one of the cornerstones of our partner squad over the past few years. Securing a long-term partnership that will include numerous commercial, image and esports rights and activations is a great opportunity for both KONAMI and its growing eFootball™ series, and we are working to make football free.”
Juliet Slot, Arsenal’s Chief Commercial Officer, said: “Konami’s eFootball™ offers a unique football experience. We are proud to expand our partnership and give our fans the opportunity to immerse themselves in a true Arsenal experience. Arsenal and Konami aim to be at the forefront of fan interaction. I am excited to work together to strengthen our collaboration and take our partnership to a new level, building on our shared values and giving our fans more opportunities to connect with their clubs.”
