The Classic Offensive mode, where fans of
Counter-. are excited, was silently removed from Steam after eight years development process. Mode was intended to provide nostalgic and modern experience by combining Counter- Counter 1.6’s mechanical mechanicals with the innovations of Global Offensive. However, the removal of the mode from Steam as a result of the automatic review of Valve has moved the future of the project to a uncertain point. Developers announced they did not receive any official alert from Valve.
Counter- Classic Classic Offensive’s Development Process
The
Classic Offensive mode was opened early in 2016 and passed the Steam Greenlight process in 2017. The aim of the mode was to add the innovative features of Global Offensive while maintaining the basic play feeling of Counter- Counter 1.6. Developers aimed at providing a customized gaming experience using the Source tools used in games such as Portal 2. The mode was planned to take 2024 holiday season, but this date was delayed on 2025.
