Sony Interactive Entertainment and Discord have announced their partnership.
Sony Interactive Entertainment has acquired a minority stake in Discord, and Discord will be integrated into PlayStation Network early next year.
PlayStation boss Jim Ryan said they were working hard to connect Discord to their social and gaming experiences on PlayStation Network. The goal is to bring Discord and PlayStation experiences together on console and mobile from early next year, enabling friends, groups, and communities to hang out, have fun, and communicate more easily while playing together.
Discord is an audio, video, and written communication service that users use to spend time and talk to their friends and communities. It has around 140 million users worldwide.
Last month, news emerged that Microsoft was in talks to buy Discord, but negotiations were later terminated.
