I find it difficult to keep track of and understand the performances of the big companies of the gaming world in creating a roof brand, dear Gamers 🙂 I don’t know if it’s the example of Microsoft’s Xbox naming, EA’s transition from Origins to EA Play (they’ve squeezed a desktop program called EA Desktop in between, of course), or Ubisoft’s UbiStore-Uplay-Ubisoft Connect trilogy. But obviously, this is a situation that companies are thinking about.
This time, Ubisoft decided to create a new brand for its games developed by its studios; after that these games ; Ubisoft Original; They’re going to check out with the brand name.
We first saw the brand last week; Tom Clancy’s The Division Heartland, which will debut as a side game in The Division series, featured the phrase ‘A Ubisoft Original’ in the image used in the announcement. Eurogamer editor Tom Phillips asks a Ubisoft official if this is a new name, a new brand, and learns that ‘The Ubisoft Original’ is a phrase that will now be attached to all games developed by studios within Ubisoft.
I don’t know if something like this was really needed. But Ubisoft is trying something. Then let’s start a little practice; How many Ubisoft Originals do we see this year, dear Gamers, shall we take the predictions?
