Outriders, who rocked the gaming world with their demo, had a difficult exit process. Square Enix and People Can Fly’s sci-fi-themed co-op game faced server issues and bugs in its early days. But even that doesn’t seem to have affected the success of the game.
Square Enix reports that the game was visited by 3.5 million players in its first month. Underlining that the average game time is 31 hours, the studio also emphasizes that Outriders is the best-selling Square Enix game on Steam. Let’s note that the 3.5 million player figure does not include players who play the game through the Epic Games Store.
Jon Brooke, chief executive of Square Enix External Studios, said he thanked the entire community for their interest and support. Brooke shared that they listened carefully to the feedback and were valued, and that new updates and additional content of the game were also on the way.
