Batgirl was the character with the most bizarre developments for the DC Cinematic Universe. Batgirl, who was rumoured to be in the universe planned by Zack Snyder, was later touted as the second DC film to direct after Joss Whedon‘un Justice League’. However, when things didn’t go as intended with Whedon, the Batgirl film was shelved. As much as the studio wanted to bring the character to the movies, the right time never came. However, in the end, concrete steps were taken regarding the film. The film’s director duo has been announced.
Adil al-Arbi and Bilall Fallah, who also directed Bad Boys for Life, will appear as the duo directing the new Batgirl film. The pair will also direct episodes of Ms.Marvel;d, which we will be watching on Disney+ in the future. The screenplay is written by Christina Hodson, who also wrote birds of prey.
One of the most important developments regarding the film is that it will be broadcast directly on HBO Max. For a film that doesn’t even have a date, this development looks like another big investment by the Warner Brothers in HBO Max. With Batgirl, who has been waiting for the script since 2018, it’s quite possible that we’ll see other characters from Inside Gotham.
“Thanks to Batgirl, we’re going to show viewers a fun ride that shows a different side of Gotham. Christina’s script is really great. Adil and Billal’s fun energy makes them great filmmakers for this new Bat project. I’m excited to have a place in the DC Universe.” Producer Kristin Burr spoke hopefully about the future of the film. The film, which has yet to be starred in, will follow the adventures of police chief JimGordon (daughter Barbara Gordon).
