Judging by the latest Steam update, Valve may once again be preparing to come up with a console-like device. Perhaps you may recall that in 2015, valve entered the business of gaming computers with console features, called Steam Machine. These computers used SteamOS, and various computer manufacturers introduced their own versions.
That’s why the Steam Controller was made. However, by 2018, steam machines have been forgotten, and then steam controller has already disappeared from sale.
As Pavel Djundik, founder of SteamDB, has noticed, steampal and steampal games are mentioned in the latest beta version of Steam. SteamPal (NeptuneName) and SteamPal Games (GameList_View_NeptuneGames) have attachments. There are also Quick Access and Power menus, as well as Shut Down, Suspend, and Restart options. This is not for Restart Steam, because its input is already a separate term in the form of RestartSteam. Other options pointing to a console or similar device are Airplane Mode, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth settings.
You can also look at all the terms in this new version here.
Of course, this could also be part of gabe newell’s recent plans to bring Steam games to the console. But the idea of a console that uses the Steam library directly doesn’t sound bad either.
