Krafton today announced a number of different PUBG content updates and events planned for June 2021. In addition to announcing extensive PUBG content planned for the rest of 2021, the company announced in-game brand collaboration with El Solitario (European motorcycle brand), a new limited-time Racing Mode and Season 12 details, including a full visual update for Miramar to be released in early June.
PUBG 2021 development plan
Krafton is charting the roadmap for new PUBG content, expected to be released this year, in the first of two planned 2021 Development Plan updates. In early June, the Miramar map will receive a full visual update. The Company also announced that PUBG will include two completely new 8×8 maps in the 3rd quarter of 2021 and the 4th quarter of 2021/1st quarter of 2022.
- Miramar Updated (PC: June 2, Consoles: June 10) – This map underwent a slight refurbishment in 2019 with the introduction of new aesthetics and lore elements. But this summer, Miramar will receive a major visual update using new KRAFTON technologies implemented on recent maps such as Paramo and Haven. The map will be included as part of PUBG’s Season 12.1 update.
- New Map – “Code Name: Tiger” ( 2021 3. Quarter) – Following the restructuring of the Miramar, KRAFTON will launch its first new 8×8 Battlefield since 2018. “Tiger” will include many of the key features fans have been waiting for with new PUBG maps. However, it will bring a comprehensive new gameplay mechanic to PUBG: the ability of players to return to battle after the first defeat.
- New Map – “Code Name: Kiki” (2021 4. Quarter or 2022 1. Quarter) – Later this year or early 2022, KRAFTON plans to release its fourth 8×8 PUBG map, “Code Name: Kiki”. This map will include a wide range of locations, from mysterious underground labs and massive skyscrapers to swampy areas and underwater buildings. Since the map is still in early development, KRAFTON plans to share additional details later in the year.

PUBG x EL SOLITARIO COLLABORATION
KRAFTON recently announced a partnership with el Solitario, a popular Spain-based motorcycle company that actively maintains classic motorcycle culture in Europe. KRAFTON will introduce El Solitario’s popular “Desert Wolves” off-road motorcycles and their outfits to PUBG from June 1st to December 30th to celebrate both companies’ instincts to engage in new challenges and create their own trends.
Limited-time racing mode
A new Racing Mode will be available for a limited time to celebrate PUBG’s collaboration with El Solitario. Located in Miramar, this mode has two different types of racing: solo and team (up to four players).
- Players with the el Solitario Desert Wolves vehicle view will see it automatically applied to the motorcycle.
- Race Mode will be active on PC June 2-14 and consoles June 10-21.
SEASON 12.1
In addition to introducing a revised Miramar when it is released on PC on June 2 and consoles on June 10, Season 12 will introduce a new ranked season, expanded customization options, a new weapon and a new vehicle.
- New Ranked Season – Update 12.1 marks the start of a new ranked season, meaning all rewards earned in Ranked Season 11 will be automatically added to players’ inventory when Season 12 begins airing june 2. Like Ranked Season 11, Ranked Season 12 will last for two months.
- Weapon Cosmetic Upgrade System – The new weapon cosmetic upgrade system will debut with 12.1, which allows players to enhance cosmetics of certain weapon skins by consuming certain in-game materials and items. These evolutionary weapon skins from the Weapon Cosmetics Chance Box will gain new features as you level up.
- New Weapon: The L6 Lynx is PUBG’s first Anti-Material rifle, available through Support Crates during Lynx AMR – Miramar regular matches. This semiautomatic crate can pierce weapons, military equipment and armored players or vehicles. Designed as a harsh response to vehicles, the L6 is an effective sniper rifle against gamers when used wisely.
- The New Vehicle – Quad – Available in the Miramar, this all-terrain vehicle (ATV) is an off-road vehicle with handlebars for direction control, designed by the operator to be used as a horse rider, and four low-pressure tyres. The ATV is inspired by the racing style model, but also includes a rear seat for a second passenger.
- Lobby Ball – While waiting on the starting island for a match to start, players will now find a football that they can kick along with other players. Players can drive the football, pass and shoot while waiting, or even coordinate a short football match if they want.
