Nvidia has announced the Doom Eternal RTX update, which will bring both Ray Tracing and DLSS support to Doom Eternal. The only RTX feature to be added to the game with this update seems to be Ray Traced Reflections, while other features (ray traced global illumination, ray traced ambient occlusion, ray traced shadows) will not be available.
If you would like to learn more about these terms and RTX, I recommend reading Tugbek;in “Ray Tracing Useful or RTX Meaningful?”. Anyway, we’re going to start hearing these terms more and more often, so it’s worth mastering the subject.
Nvidia also shared a gameplay video from Doom Eternal RTX. This video used the GeForce RTX 3080Ti and values the game at between 75 and 11 fps in 4K. The 3080Ti will go on sale june 3, and Nvidia’s proposed sale price is $1,200.
The Doom Eternal RTX update will be released later this month.
