Today, a Chinese public interest group, Tencent, was sued over the Honor of Kings game, according to a Reuters report.
The Beijing Youth Legal Aid and Research Center said they filed the lawsuit, adding: “The clothes of the game characters are inappropriate for society. In addition, there is a lot of content on the website and forums that is not suitable for young people.”
The group also expressed concern about Tencent gradually reducing the age limit of the game from 18 to 12 over the past four years. On top of that, he also raised concerns that young players are more likely to play the game longer because of in-game mechanics.
Reuters said the case follows Beijing’s antitrust crackdown on some of China’s largest technology companies.
