We saw one of the failed attempts at the DC Cinematic Universewith suicide squad, which was released in 2016. James Gunn (DC/WB) recently took advantage of his troubles with Disney to present an interesting project to the director. James Gunn, who recreates the brand under the name The Suicide Squad, recently announced the duration of the film.
The successful director, who organised a Q&A event on Twitter, announced that The Suicide Squad would be 132 minutes. Gunnadded, “I wrote, shot and edited the film. I made the best movie I could, and we got there. No one expected it to be this long.” 2 hours and 12 minutes is an unexpected task.
Considering the previous DC film, Justice League: Snyder Cut, was four hours, 132 minutes isn’t that scary. The longest DCEU film to be released was Batman v Superman with 152 minutes. Suicide Squad, released in 2016, was 123 minutes. The Suicide Squad, which stars Margot Robbie, Idris Elba, Slyvester Stallone and Taika Waititi, will be released on HBO Maxon August 6 and will be released in selected cinemas.
