Paris-based animation company Cyber Group Studios is adapting Final Fantasy IX into an animated series, according to a Kidscreen report. Adapted for eight to 13-year-olds, the series will be developed in partnership with Square Enix. Cyber Group Studios will carry out development, worldwide offering, licensing and sales.
Speaking to Kidscreen, Cyber Group Studios CEO Pierre Sissmann said they plan to present the series in late 2021 or early 2022. Sissmann also said: ” [Final Fantasy] games have a strong viewing potential”.
Final Fantasy IX is now available on the PC platform via PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, iOS, Android, PlayStation 1 and Steam.
