Electronic Arts announced the rename of its DICE LA studio in Los Angeles, run by Christian Grass, to Ripple Effect Studios. Ripple Effect Studios is currently working with DICE for Battlefield 2042, according to the press release.
“We are proud of what we do at DICE LA and the DICE team will forever remain part of our DNA,” Christian Grass said. But in the last eight years, we’ve developed our own culture and the way we do business. We are excited to look to the future, grow our team and establish our own identity.”
Ripple Effect has also begun development of a new project that has not yet been announced in addition to Battlefield 2042.
The only change in DICE LA is not limited to the name. Respawn founder Vince Zampella has also joined the team and will be managing director there. Of course, he will continue to follow the work in apex legends and star wars jedi: fallen order studio.
Since its inception in 2013, DICE LA has only worked on Battlefield games, with no experience in other games. From the job advertisements opened, it is clear that the new project will be a multiplayer game.
