Current: 3 months after the first announcement, a date has finally been given for the Steam patch. The Steam version of NieR Automata will be released on July 15, meaning a major patch will arrive tomorrow.
This patch will add a variety of new graphics settings to the game, but most importantly, under the default settings, the game will be fixed to 60 FPS. The resolution of the intermediate scenes has been corrected and 60 FPS has been played. That annoying mouse cursor will also be removed from the screen when playing with the gamepad.
The Steam version of NieR Automata also had crashes, and we’ll start to see if they’re resolved from tomorrow.

NieR Automata, one of the newer games in Game Pass, has attracted a backlash, especially from Steam players. PlatinumGames and Square Enix ignored the problems of the Steam version of the game and did not release patches. But then the game came to Game Pass, and we found that this version, unlike steam, is based on Become as Gods Edition. Offering a problem-free experience, this game also caused players to ask “why doesn’t the Steam version be fixed then”.
In fact, upon this development, players began bombarding the game with negative reviews on Steam. The game’s Steam forums have been titled “We’re bombarding reviews until Square Enix releases a patch to solve this nonsense”, and since then the number of negative reviews has risen considerably.
Square Enix could no longer remain indifferent to these reactions, as we are developing a patch for the Steam version of “NieR: Automata” from the game’s official Twitter account. We will share more information in the coming days”.
As you can see, no date has been specified, but at least with this patch we can assume that it will improve the quality of the Game Pass version of the game, which is very good news.
