We were very happy when the Psychonauts 2 announcement came in, and we look forward to it coming. Although the release date has not yet been announced, its producer Tim Schafer insists the game will debut later this year, underlining this in the game’s spring update video.
The video also featured scenes from the game, while also sharing aspects of the development process. We see a lot of things when we say editing studies, fighting bugs, how the problems detected in the testing process are solved, team meetings, soundtracks. But there are also details that make the video more fun.
The video looks exactly like Tim Schafer. Schafer’s covid vaccine scene, his reference to “injecting microchips with vaccines” and the before and after photo of Schafer cutting his hair in the finale 🙂 Schafer projected his colorful personality into this video.
Schafer says in the video that he hasn’t yet announced the game’s release date, but psychonauts 2 will be released in 2021, and a new teaser video will be coming soon. We are looking forward to it, we are following it closely.
