Amazon has entered the gaming business, but the performance to date has not been encouraging; I’m looking forward to seeing if they can reverse this picture in the coming period.
We’re used to games that were canceled during development, there’s not much to say about the example in that section (i.e. the Lord of the Rings game they canceled), but it’s amazon’s place to first take out a game, then pull it back, then take it off again and eventually cancel it; The Crucible has made its name in the history of the game, but in a very different way.
Looks like new world’s all they’ve got left right now. They shared a short trailer for what awaits us in the DVO-style game.
In the trailer, we take a quick look at the role-playing elements of the game and the mechanics of war, and the story of the game is briefly mentioned. They also briefly showed the invasion and expedition parts. In Expedition mode, you’ll be adventured in teams of 5. The developer team says that each expedition will have its own story, giving it its own unique experience.
If New World doesn’t see another reprieve, it will meet gamers on August 31. It’s available for pre-order on Steam and Amazon. But I’m not sure how many players would consider pre-ordering, especially after the Crucible incident.
