We reviewed the latest revision of the Nitro 5 last month, were very pleased and said that we are also looking forward to models with new AMD processors. The AN515-44 model that we reached out to us this month and tested in detail (NH. Q9HEY.002) simply amd’s Ryzen 5 series is a very interesting, again performance and more economical model consisting of a combination of Intel’s graphics cards.
For the first place, we will talk about AMD’s very successful CPU in this model, but let’s start with the design first, stating that it is extremely positive that the GTX 1650Ti is preferred over the GTX 1650 as a video card
Acer chose a red backlit keyboard over the RGB keyboard he used in last month’s model. At least for now, only gtx 1660Ti models have an RGB keyboard.
Acer enters the new model year with a body 2mm thinner than before, the height of the new body is only 24mm. In terms of design, the product has a plastic case that looks quite good, the red panel on the back and the keyboard with a red background even if the lights don’t turn on are also signs that indicate that you have a gaming computer.
The design of the plastic case is quite stylish, and the fact that the cover can be opened with one hand, unlike the previous one, shows that Acer works well in its lesson. The compact size product weighs 2.40kg.
Acer Nitro is a product with 5 different configurations. Our AN515-44 comes with 15.6-inch FullHD, 60Hz IPS panel, and has a screen-to-body ratio of 80.% thanks to its (7.02mm) . As you may recall, the product we examined last month used a 144Hz IPS 3ms panel. This, of course, is a choice that lowers the price as much as the performance.
The 6-core 12-track Ryzen 5-4600H processor that
Acer uses in this model has a 3.0Ghz operating speed and can accelerate itself up to 4.7Ghz. The processor’s performance is almost equivalent to, and often better, and also more economical. In our tests at Cinebench R15, the 4600H, which ranked just behind 9750H with a score of 179 with a single core, managed to easily outperform its opponent by scoring 1354 points in the multi-core.
In addition to this, we strongly recommend to increase the amount of RAM to 16GB in the product, which is equipped with Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650Ti 4GB graphics card and 8GB 3200Mhz DDR4 RAM, since it is possible to consume the amount of RAM and bottleneck in most newly released games starting from BFV. The maximum amount of RAM supported by the laptop is 32GB.
As on the deposition side, there’s some very good news. Our test product has 512GB SSD and best of all, an extra 2.5inç HDD + one M.2 NVMe slot is also available. This allows you to expand your storage.
Acer has used CoolBoost cooling technology in this model and offers you the opportunity to check all the details through the Nitro Sense program. I mentioned that I did not see any significant improvement while under the previous load, and I was also looking forward to what difference the AMD processor would make. When under load, the noise level has risen to 47-48db, which means that, like other gaming laptops, the Acer Nitro 5 is a noisy product under load. So how’s it going with the cooling
The
AMD processor and 1650Ti were a degree cooler binary than last month’s pair. The processor temperature rose to 85 degrees (we saw 88 with i7-9750H) under load, while GPU temperature rose to 73 degrees (we saw 80 with 1660Ti). These aren’t bad numbers, but they don’t work miracles. There’s nothing to say negatively.

Acer Nitro 5 is the poor audio output power of the speakers and the difficulty of watching a movie or listening to conversations in the game without headphones when the system is under load. Other than that, the stage, the bass/treble ratio is extremely good and the quality, just like I said last month.
The Killer E2600 Ethernet also used in the Intel AX200 completed with a wireless network adapter (Wi-Fi 6). This is an impressive package, no matter how you look at it. Next to the laptop comes a 135W adapter, while the battery capacity is 57Wh. This means that it allows 6-hours internet use, which, of course, can be reduced by up to a quarter when playing games.
In the PC Mark 10 tests, we tested the laptop, which scored 4785 points in several different games. In The Witcher III, the product received 70fps with High settings, 50fps with Ultra settings in Battlefield V, and 33fps with High settings in Red Dead Redemption 2 and Control. As you can see, the GTX 1650Ti is a sufficient graphics card, but with the system monsters we prefer for testing, it starts to struggle from 1080p/Ultra level and it is necessary to reduce the settings a little.
As price. The AN515-44 is a more economical product than last month’s product and can be found at a price 8600 TL. There is also another configuration that uses Ryzen 7-4800H as a processor.
