Activision will not show the new Call of Duty game Call of Duty: Vanguard, which is being developed by Sledgehammer Games, during the E3 2021 event, VGC reported. Instead, Activision will likely promote the new game with an event in Warzone in the summer. That’s how Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War was introduced last year.
Vanguard will once again take players to World War II, and the story set on the European and Pacific fronts will include multiplayer and zombie modes.
When Black Ops Cold War was integrated into Warzone, it caused a variety of problems, especially gun imbalance issues. Sledgehammer plans not to have these problems with Vanguard, and a significant amount of content is already planned for the battle royale game. These include the activation of Warzone’s newest and largest map with the release of Vanguard. Last year, it even took months to update the Verdansk map.
The Vanguard map will focus on the Pacific fronts and will be much larger than Verdansk.
The report also said that all studios currently part of Activision are working on Call of Duty, meaning Activision is officially using all the resources it has for the new Call of Duty game. Toys 4 Bob, the developer of Crash Bandicoot 4, was also commissioned to help Call of Duty: Warzone.
