Alan Wake producer Remedy is working on a PVE-focused shooter game
Remedy says Vanguard will be a PVE-focused shooter game that can be co-op -not player versus computer. It also says the game will combine “storytelling expertise with action-packed gameplay” to create a “great multiplayer experience.” The game, which is still in early construction, will be made on a budget of “customary Remedy AAA games”.
Remedy, in its announcement, says of the process of making the game:
” We develop Vanguard using the Unreal Engine engine for PC and console. Remedy will develop the game and publish it worldwide , except in certain regions in Asia. Tencent will take over the localization and distribution of the game in Asia.”
The game’s development costs will be covered by Tencent and Remedy together, and Tencent will also cover Vanguard’s Asian localization costs.
Remedy has also sold the rights to the mobile version of the game to Tencent, which will be covered by Tencent for development and distribution.
