Sony’s project to bring PlayStation game brands to the screen as tv shows and movies is in full swing. Following the release of Uncharted, all eyes were turned to HBO’s Last of Us series. But the latest bombshell news suddenly shifted the focus. PlayStation’s flagship game God of War is also a series. News of the series, in which Amazon acquired the rights, dropped like a bombshell.
Amazon Prime Video has already begun preliminary preparations for a live God of War series, Deadline first reported. Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby, the creators of The Expanse, will also star as producers on God of War, according to the report. Raffe Judkins, the executive producer of The Wheel of Time, is also one of the names involved in the project. On the Sony side of the business, it’s unclear which names will be involved yet, but god of war is likely to be a Sony/Amazon co-production.

Already, streaming services led by Netflix have identified games as the new trend after comics. Amazon also added God of War alongside two bombs, Fallout and Mass Effect , giving it a powerful arsenal. The biggest question mark is which period the show will be in.
