At GDC 2022 (Game developers conference), AMD announced that the new FidelityFX Super Resolution 2.0 (FSR 2.0) will soon arrive on Xbox consoles. FSR 2.0 is a technology that rivals Nvidia’s DLSS. This technology offers higher resolutions and frame rates to gamers.
AMD’s FSR technology is basically a system that serves to increase the frame rates of games that require high power and systems, and in doing so does not compromise on high quality and resolution. Likewise, thanks to artificial intelligence included in NVDIA’s DLSS technology, there is an increase in the frame rates of games. The difference of FSR technology from DLSS is that it is open source and supports both AMD and NVDIA graphics card models.
AMD, on the other hand, has not announced when FSR 2.0 will be available on Xbox consoles. However, he said the technology would be fully supported on Xbox consoles.
In addition, AMD has presented a list of AMD and Nvidia graphics cards that can take advantage of FSR 2.0. In this context, Nvidia graphics cards of GeForce RTX 1070 or higher, AMD Radeon RX 590 – AMD RX 6500 XT or higher will benefit from this technology.
