For Star Wars, the exciting developments are endless, dear Gamers! When we say Disney+ series, new movie projects, we also have a lot of new content in the game part of the business. The latest announcement, in particular, made me very excited about the action games part of the job. Amy Hennig, the man behind Uncharted, and her studio Skydance New Media are officially developing a new Star Wars game. Not many details about the game, which we learned from the announcement on star wars’ official website, are yet to be revealed. For now, all we know is that the game will be a cinematically rich action adventure game.
“I often tell you that watching Star Wars in 1977 recoded my 12-year-old brain. It certainly shaped my creative life and my future. I’m so happy to be able to work with Lucasfilm and tell the interactive stories of this galaxy that I love so much.” Amy Hennig confirmed the union. Especially considering the adventure/action balance it creates in Uncharted games, Hennig can have a lot of fun in the Star Wars part of the business.
There have also been some good statements from the Star Wars front. Douglas Reilly, vice president of Lucasfilm Games, said, “It couldn’t be more exciting to be working with Amy again. He and his Skydance New Media team have the passion and talent to create a unique Star Wars adventure. Their story-driven vision and the values they add to interactive entertainment make this collaboration very exciting. We look forward to working hard with the Skydance team and giving Star Wars fans more details at the right time, along with these experienced and talented developers.” Said.
This Star Wars game will also be the second biggest game of Amy Hennig and her studio. Late last year, Skydance New Media also announced that it would make a new Marvel game. Both the new Marvel game and this announced Star Wars game have something in common: it will tell a unique story. So don’t expect a story we’ve seen in the universe before. Just like fallen order, we can witness a story set in the interim period, cornered on the shore. We look forward to the first details of the game.
