Easy to say… It’s been nine years since Grand Theft Auto 5 (GTA 5), where we played the adventures of Michael, Trevor and Franklin. The game, which has been available on every platform except calculator for 3 generations, has achieved huge sales figures, and next March the next generation version is coming. Players, on the other hand, have long had the same question in mind: When will the GTA 6 release date be announced? That’s what analysts have been talking about.
GTA 6 release date may not be as close as we thought
Take-Two Interactive, which includes Rockstar, the maker of the GTA series, may have an important clue to the release date of GTA 6. Take-Two is expected to deliver a compound annual growth rate of 14% in the three-year period from Fiscal Year 2021 to 2024, according to a press release titled “Strategic Justification and Shareholder Value Creation” in a press release issued after the deal to buy mobile gaming company Zynga for $12.7 billion.”
According to an analyst at investment banking firm Jefferies, there are only a handful of topics that can provide the trust to provide such strong guidance to management. It is therefore believed that at least one Rockstar IP will be released by fiscal year 2024. Doug Creutz, a research analyst at Cowen, thinks this points to a possible GTA 6 launch in fiscal 2024.
If the forecasts are correct, the GTA 6 release date falls between the beginning of April 2023 and the end of March 2024. Rockstar and Take Two remain silent about GTA 6 for now. We’ll share it with you when new details come in.
