Raven Software, the developer of Call of Duty: Warzone, has been trying to drive away cheating players since the game’s release. More than 50,000 cheaters from Call of Duty: Warzone were banned last week, they announced on Friday.
Raven Software’s struggle with cheating players is endless
Raven Software, which posted a brief anti-cheating update on Twitter, issued two separate waves of bans on the game. These waves largely targeted repeat offenders. This isn’t the first time Raven Software has banned thousands of players in a short period of time. In February, more than 60,000 accounts were banned in One Day in Warzone. In May, Raven Software and Call of Duty publisher Activision reported that more than 350,000 players were banned from Warzone last year for racism and toxicity.
Last week, it was also stepped in to remove an “undetectable” and “unstoppable” aiming aid trick that uses machine learning and third-party software to take control when an enemy player appears on the screen. Of course, the insecurity created by these cheaters has spread to Esports players. In turn, professional players began using a five-camera system to fend off cheating allegations.
He’s had his share of calls of duty: warzone lately when games are ruined by hackers. Although cheating players are constantly being prevented, it seems unlikely that they will be completely blocked.
