For months, there has been talk that Hideo Kojima could release his new game in Microsoft distribution. Many claims have been made that the game will be cloud-based and will be broadcast in sections. There is still no official statement, so we do not know to what extent these allegations are true. But according to the latest news, we may soon have more details on this matter.
Venturebeat reported, citing sources close to it. Hideo Kojima and Microsoft have signed a letter of intent saying they intend to work out the details of a release agreement for a new Xbox game. This is a news that can be interpreted as the parties reaching an agreement and the process of determining the legal details has been proceeded.
As I mentioned above, we’re actually talking about a process that’s been going on for months. So much so that steps were also taken towards this collaboration on the Microsoft front. Recently, Microsoft commissioned Portal and Left 4 Dead developer Kim Swift to take part in work on cloud-based games. Swift most recently worked for Google Stadia.
It was recently stated that Kojima was also developing a game for Stadia, but this agreement was canceled. It was another claim that the new address of that project was Xbox. In a sense, these developments support this claim.
We are now waiting for an announcement from Kojima and Microsoft in the coming days. Let’s see what kind of game awaits us, we are keeping a close eye on it.
