A group of hackers hacked Respawn Entertainment’s shooter game Apex Legends to protest the cheating in Titanfall.
Players who log into Apex Legends on July 4th include new texts in most game modes urging them to “save Titanfall”. The details of this text reveal a URL that leads to the “SaveTitanfall.com” website that players set up to raise awareness. However, the website’s owners say they have no connection to the hacking of Apex Legends.
As a result of this hacking, the game became unplayable.
Respawn Entertainment released updates for the issue throughout the day and every hour on July 4. He’s finally been corrected. Respawn Entertainment confirmed that players’ personal information was not compromised by hackers.
