Mobile company AppLovin has acquired Twitter’s advertising platform MoPub for $1.05 billion in cash.
As part of the acquisition, AppLovin plans to integrate MoPub’s core features into its existing services.
“We are excited about the opportunity to grow the AppLovin platform and further develop our tools to monetization from publishers through this strategic transaction,” said Adam Foroughi, co-founder and CEO of AppLovin. “We welcome the MoPub team and together we will work diligently to combine mopub’s best on the AppLovin software platform.”
Twitter acquired MoPub, which initially offered monetization solutions from the app, in 2013 for about $350 million. MoPub generated over $188 million in revenue for Twitter in 2020 alone.
