Bohemia Interactive unveils Enfusion Engine graphics engine
The graphics engine, called Enfusion Engine, will be brought to the forefront by improving games in an audiovisual sense, as well as its multi-platform use, improved user-friendly interface for gamers and superior support for mod creators. Enfusion Engine, which has been working on for more than four years, currently uses a team of 30 developers.
Marek Spanel, founder and CEO of Bohemia Interactive, said: “We founded Bohemia Interactive 22 years ago, we have always chosen to use our own in-house engine. No other engine on the market allowed us to create the kind of games we wanted. For example, detailed physics simulations running in massive scale open worlds that players and communities can easily customize. Nothing’s changed about that. However, our aging Real Virtual Engine graphics engine used in the Arma 3, for example, was increasingly pushing its technological limits. Enfusion, on the other hand, is ready to face the technological challenges of the future and will determine the shape of our games over the next decade.”
Enfusion Engine will support the latest DirectX API, DX12, and come with a user-friendly design.
