The company, which is the only reason why an entire generation in our country defines every console as Atari, has officially announced that it wants to return to “premium” PC games. The developer, who currently has plenty of mobile and free-to-play games, insists on reversing the wind.
In fact, according to Atari, the studio is already working on a game that will “reach a loyal audience of players.” It is expected to debut in the fiscal year ending in April 2022. The developer even stated that he wanted to use his “library, which has more than 200 legendary games”.
At this time, there is no information about this new game, but the phrase “large library” is certainly a message. Maybe we’ll see “Pac-Man Battle Royale” or “Gremlins Remastered Edition” soon.
Atari’s desire to return to its origins after failing to find what it hoped for in the mobile and F2P market is a good detail in terms of evaluating that vast library.
