The BAFTA 2022 Gaming Awards were presented at a ceremony last night. Returnal won four awards, making it the best name of the night.
Returnal and It Takes Two were nominated in eight categories, making them the most notable names in the BAFTA. Returnal received the awards for Best Sound Design, Best Play, Best Music, while Jane Perry, nominated for Best Lead Actress, won her first BAFTA award.
It Takes Two It won awards for Best Multiplayer Game and Best Original Brand, while Ratchet &clank: Rift Apart also won the award for Best Animation and Technical Performance.
Hollis Forsythe won best supporting actor for her role ;d Psychonauts 2, her first BAFTA award.
The award for Best Exit Game went to TOEM;
The Artful Escape It won the Award for Best Art Design, while Forza Horizon 5 was named Best British Play.
No Man’s Sky won the Award for Best Ongoing Game, which evolved into a game that was constantly improving and evolved into a very different game than it was in the first place. Chicory: A Colorful Tale took home the award for Best Family Play.
Unpacking won the EE Game of the Year award, the only branch voted for by the players at the ceremony. Unpacking also won the award for Best Narrative.
The Award for Best Game Design went to Inscryption, which took the concept of card game to a very different point and wowed the players with its story and editing. In the Game Beyond Fun category, the award went to Before Your Eyes, which tells the story of a soul’s postmortem journey.
