I’ve expressed how much I love the Little Nightmares series before (it has nothing to do with the fact that the girl is a complete Little Nightmares fan:)). As a result, we were saddened by the announcement by the developer team Tarsier Studios that the series would end with game 2. But Bandai Namco has no intention of just putting the Little Nightmares brand aside.
The first game, released in 2017, managed to sell 1 million copies in its release year, opening the door for a sequel. The supplement was the mobile game released in 2019, and this year Little Nightmares 2 came in. A comic book project was then launched, but ended after two issues were published. And then there’s the TV/film project, but his fate is uncertain right now.
After Little Nightmares 2, Tarsier Studios turned to a new project, while the PS5 and Xbox Series versions of the game were developed by Supermassive Games. The announcement of a brand manager for Little Nightmares on Bandai Namco’s LinkedIn page and the use of the phrase “Headline IP” for this series made me think that the series was not shelved as it was said.
While that doesn’t mean a new game, it did give us hope. I hope they don’t leave it in two games like they say, but they’ll bring more. We are looking forward to it, we are following it very closely.
