Bandai Namco has announced plans to start his own Metaverse.
The company shared the vision in a medium-term plan presentation on Tuesday and announced its goal of investing £96 million ($130 million) in the ‘IP Axis Strategy’.
The strategy involves creating a virtual space to accommodate three goals: connecting with fans, increasing IP value, and improving its global presence to boost sales outside Japan.
Bandai Namco said:
“We aim for open frameworks that provide venues to connect with and between fans and business partners. Through IP Metaverse, we will create communities among fans as well as bandai namco and fans.”
In addition, Bandai Namco reported annual revenue of $5.4 billion in its recent financials, up 15.5% on the impact of Japanese publications.
